Dates of service: Construction started in 1933, launched in 1936, first commissioned in 1937. The Duca degli abruzzi was refitted in 1951-53 and then uncommissioned in 1961. The Garibaldi was refitted in 1950-51 and, in 1953, was put in reconstruction (ended in 1961) to become a missile launcher cruiser; uncommissioned in 1971.
